A stupid Canadian wolfbird if you will! I had to figure out a way to craft out my obsession of Heated Rivalry and you know I love to make birds out of glass so this felt like the perfect combination!
The piece is made with a mix of opaque (black) and transparent (gray, deep green, iridescent, white, and blue) glass that is both a mix of new sheets and salvaged glass! The black and white pieces have been hand painted with additional details and heat cured. The loon was then soldered, cleaned, patina-ed, buffed with whiting powder, and finished with wax and hand buffed! The measurements are approximately 11 inches (width) x 5.75 (height) inches (measuring approximately 10 inches tall including the hanging chain).
This is one of my most detailed pieces I have done and a lot of care and experimentation was put into this!
Pattern: hand drawn by me!
Materials: sheet glass (both new and salvaged), Pebeo paints, copper foil, 60/40 lead solder, hobby came, tinned copper wire
*stained glass is made with lead solder. Please wash hands thoroughly after handling piece with care!
